When should I book my wedding venue?

Great question! Usually the venue is one of the first things to get booked in the wedding planning process. There are typically less wedding venues to choose from than other potential vendors. Because of this, venues usually fill up first! We recommend booking your wedding venue 12-18 months in advance of your wedding date.

How much is the wedding venue deposit?

We require $1500 and a signed contract to secure your date at A Prairie Lodge. The deposit amount is subtracted from the overall total of your event.

How much does your wedding venue cost?

Our prices are extremely reasonable and competitive. You may view our prices here. If you have any questions please let us know!

Are wedding venue deposits refundable?

In most scenarios, the deposit is non-refundable. When your event is booked at A Prairie Lodge we promise that you will be our only event that day. With that in mind, we turn down multiple other events in order to make sure your event gets our sole attention.

Who decorates the wedding venue?

Most basic decorations are done by the Prairie Lodge team. A list of what we provide can be found here. Beyond that, we have some great recommended vendors that can help you take your event to the next level.

Does your wedding venue have a lake on site?

We are actually in the process of expanding the pond we have on site, installing a fountain, and creating lounging and bonfire pits!

Does your wedding venue come without food?

While we do have some food vendors that we recommend, we do not offer food services. We welcome food trucks, taco bars, mobile wood fire pizza, or anything else you can dream up!

Does your wedding venue have a liquor license?

We do! We are licensed through the State of Illinois to sell liquor. Of course, all guests must be ID’d at the time of purchase. You can find our alcohol menu along with pricing here.

What about hotels? Where will my guests stay?

The beautiful, historic city of Leclaire, IA is just 8 minutes from our venue. All hotels in the city offer discounts to clients of A Prairie Lodge. Please visit our accommodations page for more information.
